Experiencing the Sea Life

If you love to explore sea life, GeoSea is a perfect location for you. Playful Humpback whales are spotted here quite often along with Minke whales. Pretty white-beaked dolphins and Orcas are some of the species frequently found here. You would be amazed to know that the biggest animal on earth, the Blue whale, is also found regularly on the Skjálfandaflói bay. Iceland is one of the only two locations in Europe, where the Blue whale comes so near to the coast. It has been spotted here on Skjálfandaflói bay since 2004. Everyone visiting the sea baths can enjoy whale watching from the great balcony view of the bay. The experience is rejuvenating.

Two boreholes in the area contribute to the waters of the geothermal seawater. The temperature of the water is around 38-39° C with constant water flow. The water at Geosea is known for being rich in minerals. It is considered beneficial for the skin. Specifically, those with skin diseases should consider having a dip.
