While enjoying on the horseback, you will cross the river Varmá along the narrow path and will reach the ancient lava field, which is created by the volcano Hengill. Now continuing on the trails and crossing the mountain ridges, the route will take you to the magnificent geothermal Reykjadalur valley. You will witness the spectacular views, and magnificent Icelandic nature. While passing through and witnessing the stunning panoramic views, we will pass the waterfall Djúpagilsfoss and hot springs before reaching the Reykjadalur valley where you can also have the opportunity to relax in a warm stream. And after this, continuing along the mountain trails, we will be back to our starting place. We suggest you not to forget to carry warm clothes and reliable shoes for complete safety.

- You do not have to bring riding pants on the tour.
This tour is for experienced riders who ride regularly and are capable of controlling a horse in all gaits in different terrain.
- Lunch box is included in the tour. Lunch box includes sandwich, cookies, water bottle, coffee/tea/hot chocolate and home baked cake. Special sandwiches available on request.
If the weather does not allow us to go into the mountains, the tour will be changed.
There are no changing rooms in the valley.
Riding distance ca. 19 km.
- If you bring a camera, please bring a small waist bag as backpacks cannot be taken on horseback.
- The weight limit for riders is 120 kg.
- Pick up is available from Reykjavik at 8.00 – 8.30.
- Pick up is available from Hafnarfjörður, Mosfellsbær, Kópavogur & Seltjarnarnes from 7.45.
- Return to Reykjavik is around 17.15
- You will be spending 5 – 6 riding, bathing & hiking.
- There are four short walks on the tour.
- This tour is ideal for single travelers, groups & families.
- No horse riding experience is required for this tour.
