About Tour
Explore one of the most remote and beautiful regions of East Iceland on this guided E-bike and hiking adventure. Starting from Borgarfjörður Eystri, we ride through a dramatic landscape of multicolored rhyolite hills, following ancient trails into the Víknaslóðir Wilderness. Once home to hardy Icelandic farmers, this area is now a quiet haven for birds and sheep.
Our destination is Lake Urðarhólavatn, a serene alpine lake set in a glacially carved basin. After taking in the tranquility and snapping some photos, we continue by foot to Gæsavötn, two alpine lakes overlooking the historic Breiðavík valley. This hidden region is rich in natural beauty and untouched by mass tourism. After a break in the peaceful mountain surroundings, we hike back to our bikes and enjoy a smooth downhill ride to the village.
