About Tour

Embark on a journey through East Iceland’s most breathtaking landscapes, where dramatic basalt formations meet incredible wildlife. Begin your adventure at Stuðlagil Canyon, home to towering basalt columns and vibrant turquoise waters—a true natural wonder and a dream for photographers. Walk along the canyon’s scenic trails, take in the stunning views, and capture unforgettable moments.

After exploring the canyon, continue to The Reindeer Park, where you’ll get up close with Iceland’s only wild reindeer population. Learn about these magnificent creatures, their role in Icelandic history, and their unique adaptation to the rugged terrain. This interactive experience offers a rare opportunity to observe and even feed the reindeer in a peaceful and natural setting.

Combining striking landscapes and a one-of-a-kind wildlife encounter, this tour promises an unforgettable day of exploration and discovery in East Iceland.

Activities

Good to know

  • This tour follows the same route as the Vök Baths tour, but instead of soaking in the baths, you’ll visit The Reindeer Park for a unique wildlife encounter.
  • We will make a short stop at Vök Baths to drop off guests on the other tour. After your visit to The Reindeer Park, we’ll return to pick them up. During this time, you’ll have the opportunity to grab a coffee or a snack at the Vök Baths restaurant.
  • The hike to Stuðlagil Canyon is mostly on a flat gravel path, but there are a couple of small inclines/declines that may be challenging for some travelers.
  • There are no food stops along the way, so please bring a packed lunch with you.
Vök baths in East Iceland, hot springs in East Iceland
