What you might want to explore:
Fossfjörður – The Forgotten Fjord
Tucked away from the main road, Fossfjörður is a peaceful and narrow fjord where silence reigns. You might spot seals lounging on the rocks or sea birds diving for fish. The old turf ruins here hint at a forgotten settlement, perfect for those seeking solitude and history.

Korpudalur Valley – A Hiker’s Paradise
This lush and remote valley is surrounded by dramatic mountains and offers quiet hiking trails, trickling streams, and views over Önundarfjörður. A perfect spot for a short, scenic walk or a picnic surrounded by untouched nature.

The Old A-Frame Cabin by the Fjord (Near Dýrafjörður)
This iconic triangular wooden cabin beside a peaceful fjord has become a favorite hidden photo spot. The setting is surreal—calm water, dramatic cliffs, and the soft crackle of nature all around. A must-see for photographers and dreamers.

Flateyri Village & Avalanche Barriers
This small fishing village is rich in local history and surrounded by towering avalanche defenses. Visit the charming book café, hear stories of resilience from locals, and walk along the breakwater for stunning views across the fjord.

Remote Farm Visit – Authentic Iceland
We’ll arrange a stop at a working farm in one of the more remote corners of the Westfjords. Meet Icelandic horses, learn about rural life, and taste homemade skyr or flatbread. These visits offer a rare look into the soul of the region.

Valagil Canyon – Hidden Waterfall Adventure
Located near Súðavík, this short hike leads to a stunning gorge where a secret waterfall cascades down volcanic cliffs. It’s a quiet, photogenic spot and great for a short adventure without crowds.

Álftafjörður – Paddleboard or Reflect
If you’re up for it, this glassy fjord is ideal for paddleboarding or just walking along the shoreline. The calm waters reflect the surrounding mountains like a mirror—unforgettable at sunset or on a still morning.

Dynjandi – At Off-Peak Times
If you haven’t yet seen the famous Dynjandi waterfall, your guide may time the visit to avoid cruise buses and big groups. The largest waterfall in the Westfjords, Dynjandi is awe-inspiring and worth experiencing in silence.

Látrabjarg Cliffs – Edge of the World
Stand on the westernmost point of Iceland at the dramatic Látrabjarg sea cliffs, towering over 400 meters above the Atlantic. These cliffs are famous for their abundant puffin colonies, especially from May to mid-August. Get up close (safely) to puffins, razorbills, and guillemots – a paradise for birdwatchers and photographers.

Arctic Fox Center in Súðavík – Wildlife & Culture
Visit this cozy and informative non-profit center dedicated to Iceland’s only native land mammal – the Arctic Fox. Learn about the species’ history, behavior, and conservation through interactive exhibits. You may even meet a rescued fox! A great stop for families and wildlife enthusiasts.

Bolafjall Viewing Platform – Sky-High Fjord Views
Take a scenic drive up the winding road to Bolafjall mountain above Bolungarvík, where a striking skywalk-style viewing platform extends over the edge, offering sweeping views over Ísafjarðardjúp and the open sea. On clear days, the vistas stretch to the horizon and beyond.
