Good to know before you soak

Natural hot springs have no staff and often no changing rooms: bring a towel and swimsuit, take your rubbish with you and keep soap out of the water. Water temperature changes with weather and season, so test it with your hand first. Some springs are on farmland or in the highlands and need a 4x4 or a walk.

Paid lagoons and spas have changing rooms, showers and a towel option, and most are happy to sell you a ticket in advance. Tickets are cheapest and most certain when booked ahead, especially for Sky Lagoon, the Blue Lagoon and Mývatn in summer. Prices on this page are the prices we sell the ticket for, and the price for each day is shown at checkout. Places can close for maintenance or bad weather; check the operator before a long drive.
