About Tour
Hvammsvik Hot Springs has been named the “#1 place to visit in 2023” by TimeOut. Immerse yourself in luxury at this nature resort and enjoy the eight natural hot springs of various sizes and temperatures, surrounded by stunning coastline views, mountains, and wildlife. Whether you’re a local or a traveler, looking for a quick escape from the city or a multi-day stay, this attraction is conveniently located just 45 minutes away from Reykjavik in West Iceland.
The Hvammsvik estate consists of 1200 acres (486 hectares) of land, including the nature resort and hot springs, surrounded by hillsides and the sea in Hvalfjordur fjord. Your ticket provides access to most of these areas.
The main attraction is the eight geothermal pools made of natural rocks, each with different temperatures ranging from 95 to 104 F (35 to 40 C). Unlike most hot springs in Iceland, these pools are a blend of underground water and seawater. The hot spring water comes from deep within the earth at 4593 feet (1400 meters), while the seawater comes directly from the Atlantic Ocean. This unique blend of water changes constantly with the tides and seasons, offering a different experience each day.
While enjoying the hot springs, you can also admire the breathtaking views of the sea, surrounding mountains, and wildlife. Around 30 species of birds reside in the area, and sometimes even arctic foxes venture there.
The resort offers several free activities and events, including a farm tour, a Wim Hof Method session on the coastline, and stand-up paddleboarding (subject to availability). Light dishes made from fresh ingredients are also available.
Other facilities include the steam bath, outdoor and indoor changing facilities, and outdoor showers. Guests can rent swimwear, towels, and swimming shoes from the resort.
Book your tickets now to experience the famous Icelandic geothermal bath in the stunning surroundings of Hvammsvik Hot Springs.
