About Tour
Enjoy a scenic ride to the abandoned farm of Kleif, where you’ll have the opportunity to soak in the stunning views and explore the old farmhouse. For the adventurous, there’s a chance to try crossing the Jökulsá River using a traditional cableway.
Riding an Icelandic horse is a unique experience that offers a sense of freedom in the wild landscapes. After the ride, you’ll be treated to a delicious buffet at the Wilderness Center’s kitchen. Each horse is carefully selected to ensure both your enjoyment and safety.
Please note that the entire experience lasts 3 hours, including the time spent choosing and saddling the horses, as well as the visit to the abandoned farm.
Included
- Fully guided tour
- Riding gear
- Rain gear if needed
What to bring
- Dress according to weather.

Good to know
- The minimum age for this tour is 8 years.
- The weight limit for the tour is 100 kg (220 lbs). Unfortunately this limit is non negotiable due to animals and your safety.
- We take safety very seriously and therefore require everyone to wear a helmet for the entire duration of the tour.
- Please be at the stable, dressed and ready to ride, 15 minutes before your departure time. This allows time for you to be signed in, get a helmet fitted, and a run-through of a quick demo/safety briefing so that everyone is on the horses and ready to leave on time.
- It rains a lot in Iceland so it is good to be prepared with raingear, but please avoid ponchos or big, flappy coats that may scare the horses.
