Stuðlagil Canyon Jeep Tour

  • Morning Departure: Your tour begins with a pickup at the “Tour Bus” stop by Seyðisfjörður harbour. From here, we start our scenic jeep ride through the Eastfjords region.

  • Drive Through Egilsstaðir and Farmland: We pass through Egilsstaðir, the capital of East Iceland, and continue through beautiful farmland dotted with sheep, heading toward the glacier river valley of Jökulsá.

  • Arrival and Hike to Stuðlagil Canyon: Upon arrival at the parking area, we begin a leisurely 20 to 30-minute walk one way to the breathtaking Stuðlagil Canyon. Along the way, you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding Arctic landscape.

  • Explore Stuðlagil: Once at the canyon, you’ll be surrounded by magnificent basalt columns and the canyon’s emerald-colored waters—a perfect spot for photos and quiet reflection. We take our time here to soak in the beauty and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

  • Return Walk: After ample time at the canyon, we hike back to the jeep.

  • Snack and Rest Break: We take a short break for refreshments and bathroom facilities to recharge before heading back.

  • Waterfall Stops: On the return journey, we stop at two of the area’s most beautiful waterfalls, Rjúkandi and Gufufoss, to admire the rushing waters and capture more amazing photos.

  • Optional Local Shopping: Time permitting, we visit a local wool and gift store where you can browse Icelandic crafts and souvenirs.

  • Return to Seyðisfjörður: We conclude the tour by driving back to the harbour, arriving in the afternoon with wonderful memories and plenty of photos.
