Itinerary
Your adventure begins at our base in Heimaey, where you’ll meet your expert local guide and get fitted with your electric scooter, helmet, safety vest, and optional knee and elbow protectors. After a quick safety briefing and introduction to the Kaabo Wolf Warrior scooter, you’re ready to hit the trail.
We start our ride toward the dramatic lava fields formed during the 1973 Eldfell volcanic eruption — one of the most significant natural events in Iceland’s recent history. You’ll cruise through the hardened lava that reshaped the island, feeling the rumble of history beneath your wheels.
Along the route, we’ll stop at key viewpoints and historical markers, where your guide will share fascinating stories from the night the eruption began — tales of heroic evacuations, homes swallowed by lava, and the transformation of the island. You’ll see where new land was created, how the islanders battled the advancing lava, and learn how Vestmannaeyjar rebuilt itself in the aftermath.
We’ll make several photo stops along the way, so you’ll have the chance to capture the surreal landscape and panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and surrounding islands.
After approximately one hour of scenic riding and storytelling, we return to base — full of fresh sea air, volcanic insight, and unforgettable memories.
