- All whale watching & northern lights tours are subject to weather conditions and sightings cannot be guaranteed. We reserve the right to cancel the tour due to bad weather conditions.
- If there are no sightings on the tour use tour ticket to join us on the next available day.
It is possible to book a pick up for the tour for extra price. Please let us know if you want us to pick you up at your hotel.
- Pick ups must be booked with a minimum of one hour before the tour departure time. All pick ups booked after that will be discarded.
- You will go off the boat in Reykjavik between the whale watching part of the tour and the northern lights part of the tour.
The duration of the whale watching part of the tour is around 3 – 3,5 hours and the duration of the northern lights tour is approximately 2 – 2,5 hours.
The departure of the northern lights part of the tour depends on what month you book the tour. The reason for this is that during the high winter time it gets dark outside sooner and therefor we can start the tour earlier in the evening.
September & March 15th to April 15th: 22.00
- October – March 14th : 21.00
- The summer tours are usually on a faster boat so the time on the spotting area will be the same during summer and winter – it’s just sailing to that point and back to harbor that will be shorter during summer time.
- You should be at the departure point at least 30 minutes before scheduled departure.
- Our ship is comfortable and warm and suits very well for Whale Watching & Northern Lights.
If you don’t see a whale or northern lights on the tour, you have the option to take the tour again for free.

We recommend that you walk around and explore the city & grab a dinner before you go on the northern lights hunt in the evening.
The northern lights part of the tour is operated on a boat as well as the whale watching part of the tour.
If the tour gets cancelled due to weather you can choose between rescheduling the tour for another departure or receiving a full refund.
Free cancellation up to 1 day before the tour. If you cancel within 1 day notice, a 100% fee will be charged.
However, we always ask you to cancel the tour as soon as possible so we can adjust the schedule for the day depending on how many people will be joining the tour.
Light snacks, sandwiches, coffee, tea, beer and soft drinks are sold onboard.
We have almost 100% sightings on this tour. However, if you don’t see whales on the tour you can reschedule the tour free of charge for the next available day.
Our northern lights experts take a very good look at the forecast for each night and therefor we have almost 100% sightings on this tour. If the northern lights forecast is not good for the evening, we will cancel the northern lights part of the tour and you can choose between rescheduling or getting a full refund.

This is, of course, a personal choice, we have often had pregnant women on our trips. This tour is listed as easy so if you do not feel uncomfortable on a boat, this tour should be ideal for you.
