About Tour
Experience two of South Iceland’s most iconic attractions in a unique and thrilling way on this meet-on-location combo tour.
Your adventure begins with an ATV/quad-bike ride on the vast black sands of Sólheimasandur. Meeting your guide at Mýrdalsjökull Base Camp, you’ll be geared up and given a quick safety briefing before setting off on the black beach. On your quad bike, you’ll take in panoramic views of glaciers and expansive South Coast beaches, stopping to visit the famous Sólheimasandur DC3 Plane Wreck for an unforgettable photo opportunity.
After the ATV tour, you’ll make your way independently to Sólheimajökull Base, near the Sólheimajökull glacier, where the second part of your adventure awaits. Here, you’ll meet your kayaking guide, who will provide you with a dry suit and all necessary kayaking gear, along with a quick lesson on technique for the sit-on-top kayak. Once prepared, you’ll launch into the glacial lagoon, paddling amongst stunning icebergs that have calved off the glacier. As you glide across the water, you’ll enjoy close-up views of the glacier, floating icebergs, and the rugged cliffs surrounding the lagoon—a perspective only possible from the water.
