Next, you arrive at the geothermal pool, where you have the option to go for a hike or take a dip in the warm waters surrounded by a field of lava. It’s a unique and invigorating experience to be able to connect with nature in such a primal way, as you soak in the healing waters and take in the breathtaking surroundings.
As the tour continues, you head towards the active volcano Hekla, known as the queen of Icelandic volcanoes. If conditions allow, you will drive up to an elevation of 900 meters, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of up to 100 km in all directions, with the possibility of seeing seven glaciers. It’s a truly awe-inspiring sight that will leave you in awe of the raw power and beauty of nature.
Throughout the tour, there will be opportunities for hiking, with the path being about 8 km in total. The terrain can be uneven at times, with uphill and downhill sections, but the experienced guide will cater to each person’s ability and provide information about each stop along the way. If you prefer not to hike, there is no pressure to do so, as the tour is designed to accommodate all guests.
