About Tour
Come aboard for an unforgettable journey to Landmannalaugar, a wonderland of natural beauty. Our specially designed super-jeep tour promises both intimacy and excitement, with a focus on your comfort. We offer this tour as a small group experience, with a maximum of 8 passengers per car. However, if you have a larger group, simply let us know and we can arrange multiple cars for you. Alternatively, you may choose to book a private tour just for your group.
We begin our journey by picking you up from Reykjavik or the South coast of Iceland, and drive towards Hekla, the country’s most active volcano. After a brief stop, we continue on to Landmannalaugar where we spend 3 hours. Here, you can choose to go hiking, with options available for all skill levels. The most popular hike is a 4.5 km trek that takes approximately 2 hours, leaving plenty of time for a relaxing dip in the natural geothermal pool.
On our return trip, we stop at several spectacular locations, including the large volcanic crater Hnausapollur, with its enchanting blue water. We also visit the stunning Sigöldugljúfur, the impressive Sigöldufoss, and Hjálparfoss before heading back to Reykjavik.

Itinerary
Welcome to the unforgettable Super Jeep tour to Landmannalaugar, where you can experience Iceland’s natural wonders in comfort and style. Our specially designed super jeep ensures that you travel with a maximum of six people, guaranteeing an intimate and exhilarating trip.
You will be picked up directly from your Reykjavík accommodation, or a prearranged meeting point, for an 8.30 am departure, and then set out on your journey. Landmannalaugar is located in the Fjallabak Nature Reserve and is one of Iceland’s most beloved outdoor recreational areas, renowned for its stunning rhyolite mountains displaying beautiful colors from pink to green. The area is a natural geothermal wonderland with its famous natural pool nestled under the Laugahraun lava field dating back to 1477.
En route to Landmannalaugar, you will visit several magnificent places that will take your breath away. The first stop is at the dramatic Þjórsárdalur Valley, where we stop first at a local mini-market to stretch our feet and grab lunch for later in the day. We then drive 19 km up the valley to see the beautiful Hjálparfoss waterfalls cascading into a serene pool beside each other.
Next, you will head up the highland bridge to the magical Háifoss, a stunning 122-meter-high waterfall with one of the best views Iceland has to offer. You will then visit Ljótipollur, a volcanic crater that was created by an eruption in 1477 and now filled with a cobalt-blue lake, making it a favorite location among photographers. Your next stop will be at Frostastaðavatn, a beautiful lake with stunning turquoise color.
Once you reach Landmannalaugar, you can take a short hike around Laugahraun, an Obsidian and rhyolite lava field, or go for a relaxing dip in the natural geothermal pool. These are by far the two best ways to maximize your experience of a day tour in Landmannalaugar.
After you have enjoyed what Landmannalaugar has to offer, you will return to the Super Jeep and head back. We will take the Dómadalur route back, which takes you to Mount Hekla, Iceland’s most active volcano, where we will drive on the actual volcano. After enjoying these locations, you will return to Reykjavík. You will no doubt be in awe of the many sites you have visited, and your memories of this trip will last a lifetime.
