Itinerary

The tour begins at the Skógarhlíð 10 terminal in the capital city. Guests can either board the tour bus at the terminal or opt for personal pickup from their accommodation. Arrive at the designated location 15 minutes before boarding time, with your ticket in hand, whether physical or digital.

Upon arrival at Húsafell Visitor Center, guests will board off-road vehicles suitable for traversing the glacier. Waterproof one-piece suits will be provided by the tour guide, ensuring a dry and comfortable exploration of the ice cave. The journey to the cave takes approximately 30-35 minutes, with an hour-long tour inside.

Langjökull Glacier, also known as the “long glacier,” stands as Iceland’s second-largest glacier. Renowned for its elongated shape, it’s a hotspot for snowmobiling and super jeep adventures due to its vast stretches of ice, offering both challenge and beauty. Additionally, Langjökull is a favored destination for glacier walking, providing unique experiences amidst Iceland’s stunning landscapes.

Into the Glacier Ice Tunnels is a marvel of human ingenuity, offering visitors a breathtaking experience. This man-made ice cave boasts an enchanting chapel inside, where several weddings have taken place, adding to its allure. Lined with feature lighting, benches, and designated sitting areas, the cave showcases stunning ice structures, creating a truly magnificent work of art.

Following the ice cave exploration, guests will enjoy lunch at the Húsafell Bistro, offering a buffet of various dishes including salads, pizzas, vegetable soups, and signature Icelandic meat soup.

The next stop on the itinerary is the Hraunfossar & Barnafoss Waterfalls, where guests will marvel at the crystal-clear streams of water flowing from Hvitá, the “White River.” The water, filtered by lava rocks, creates a mesmerizing and enchanting landscape throughout the year.

  • For hotel pickups, be ready at your chosen location 30 minutes before the tour departure time. Look for the Green Smartbus™ outside your accommodation within the 30-minute pickup window.
  • You’ll travel in a spacious and comfortable coach accommodating approximately 40-65 people. Lavatory facilities are available onboard, along with free wifi and USB charging ports.
  • Lunch is not included, but we’ll stop at Húsafell where you can purchase food and drinks and use restroom facilities if needed. You’ll also have the opportunity to dine at the Húsafell Bistro after exiting the ice cave.

If you have not booked a pick up for the tour, the meeting point is at the Reykjavik Terminal – located at Skógarhlíð 10.

Please show up at our Reykjavik Terminal 15 minutes prior to the departure time. We kindly ask you to be ready at your pick up point with your voucher, either in digital or printed form.

If you have booked a pick up for the tour, the minibus will be at your chosen pick up location 30 minutes before the departure of th etour. Look for a green minibus. 

The ice cave part of the tour is around 1 hour. 

Lunch is not included, but we will stop at Húsafell where you will have a chance to buy food and drinks and use the restrooms if needed. You will have a chance to eat at the Húsafell Bistro after exiting the ice cave.
