About Tour
Múlagljúfur Canyon Private Tour
Embark on a private adventure to one of Iceland’s best-kept secrets — Múlagljúfur Canyon. This hidden gem in South Iceland is often missed by travelers, but those who make the journey are rewarded with dramatic canyon cliffs, moss-covered lava fields, and breathtaking waterfalls tucked away in a quiet valley.
Your journey begins with convenient pick-up options: choose Reykjavík, the South Coast (Hella, Hvolsvöllur, or even Vík), or Keflavík Airport for an additional fee. From Reykjavík or the South Coast towns, your private tour includes two of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls — Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss — before continuing to the canyon trailhead. If you prefer a pick-up in Vík, the focus will be on the canyon hike itself, skipping the waterfalls.
Once at Múlagljúfur, your guide will lead you on a scenic hike along trails carved by glaciers and rivers over thousands of years. You’ll take in stunning views of towering canyon walls, glacial rivers, and waterfalls cascading into the canyon. The trail is moderately challenging, but suitable for families and adventurous travelers alike.
This private experience ensures you have the flexibility to hike at your own pace, take as many photo stops as you like, and fully enjoy Iceland’s wild nature without crowds. Whether you’re a keen photographer, a family looking for a special outing, or simply someone who wants to discover a hidden gem, this tour combines iconic highlights with a true off-the-beaten-path adventure.

Skogafoss waterfall
Continuing along the South Coast, you’ll visit Skógafoss, a majestic 60-meter-high waterfall. On sunny days, you might even spot double rainbows forming in the mist, making this stop unforgettable.
Lunch stop
During the day, you’ll stop for lunch at a local café or enjoy a picnic, depending on the weather and your preferences. This is a great chance to relax, refuel, and take in the scenery before continuing your journey.
