About Tour

Our South Coast Private Tour promises an unforgettable adventure, showcasing the true beauty of Icelandic nature in a single, unforgettable day.

Itinerary

Our adventure starts by driving through the mountains that separate Reykjavik from the south. You’ll be treated to breathtaking views of lava fields, distant peaks, and geothermal plants releasing steam.

Hveragerði

Our first stop is Hveragerði, a charming town where you can indulge in freshly brewed coffee (or tea) and savor local Icelandic delicacies at the local bakery. Within the same building, the Earthquake Museum offers an opportunity to experience the trembling ground, a creation born from a significant earthquake in 2008 that had its epicenter in this region. It’s a fantastic addition to your morning!

Seljalandsfoss

South Coast Iceland, Seljalandsfoss waterfall - south Iceland tour guide

After Hveragerði, our journey takes us through Selfoss, Hella, and Hvolsvöllur, leading to the awe-inspiring Seljalandsfoss, a waterfall that will leave you in awe. While you may have seen pictures of Seljalandsfoss, nothing compares to the experience of getting slightly damp while walking behind the cascading water.

Gljúfrabúi waterfall

Gljúfrabúi hidden waterfall - south Iceland Tour packages

Amidst the beauty of our South Coast Private Tour, you’ll also have the chance to discover the hidden gem of Gljúfrabúi waterfall. Tucked away in a secluded canyon, Gljúfrabúi offers a unique and mystical experience, as you step inside the cavernous opening to witness the waterfall’s ethereal beauty, shrouded in mist and the echoes of falling water. It’s a captivating, secret world waiting to be explored.

Skógafoss

A man stands in front of the majestic Skógafoss waterfall in Iceland, surrounded by lush greenery. A vibrant rainbow arcs gracefully through the mist rising from the waterfall, creating a stunning contrast against the blue sky. The man is gazing up at the waterfall, capturing the beauty of this natural wonder.

Shortly after visiting Seljalandsfoss, we’ll pause near another Icelandic gem, Skógafoss. This waterfall is a marvel of nature, with a tremendous flow of water creating a constant mist that forms breathtaking rainbows. It feels like you can reach out and touch them.

Kvernufoss waterfall

A man stands behind Kvernufoss waterfall, surrounded by a misty curtain of water cascading down a rocky cliff. The vibrant green moss covers the surrounding rocks, creating a lush backdrop, while the sunlight filters through, casting shimmering reflections on the water. The man, silhouetted against the waterfall, gazes out at the serene landscape, embodying a sense of adventure and connection to nature in this breathtaking setting.

On our South Coast Private Tour, you’ll also have the privilege of discovering the enchanting Kvernufoss waterfall. Tucked away from the beaten path, Kvernufoss provides an intimate and serene encounter with nature’s splendor. A short hike along a peaceful trail will lead you to this hidden gem, where you can marvel at the cascading water and relish the tranquility of the surroundings. You can even walk behind this waterfall! It’s a delightful escape into Iceland’s untouched beauty.

Vík

Vík í Mýrdal on the Jokulsarlonn Glacier Lagoon Private Tour

Our next stop is the charming town of Vík, offering plenty to explore. First and foremost, it’s time for sustenance! After all the excitement, you’ve probably worked up an appetite. We’ll visit a restaurant here, where you can purchase food and souvenirs. We’ll also venture to the famous black beach in Vík, and if we’re fortunate, we might spot some puffins perched on the cliffs.

Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach

A breathtaking view of Reynisfjara black sand beach in Iceland, showcasing the striking Reynisdrangar cliffs in the background. The dark volcanic sand stretches across the foreground, while powerful waves crash against the shore. The towering, jagged cliffs rise majestically from the ocean, contrasting beautifully with the deep blue water and cloudy sky. The scene captures the wild and rugged beauty of Iceland's coastline.

One of the tour’s most remarkable highlights, Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach has been recognized as one of the world’s top 10 beaches by National Geographic. This spectacular location will leave you speechless with its basalt stacks, crashing waves, and breathtaking scenery. However, exercise caution, as the waves can be extremely treacherous.

Prepare for a day packed with natural wonders and unforgettable experiences as you embark on our South Coast Private Tour.
