Highlights of the tour

About Tour

Explore the rugged beauty of Iceland’s highlands with the Þórsmörk Super Jeep Tour, a once-in-a-lifetime adventure that takes you deep into one of Iceland’s most stunning nature reserves. Þórsmörk, also known as Thorsmork, is named after the Norse god Thor and is famous for its breathtaking landscapes, glacial rivers, and dramatic mountain peaks. With this Super Jeep tour, you’ll traverse terrains that are inaccessible to regular vehicles, crossing rivers and driving over rugged tracks, all while enjoying unparalleled views of Iceland’s raw, untamed nature.

Included

  • Super Jeep Transport: Travel in a specially equipped Super Jeep, designed to handle Iceland’s rugged terrain, including river crossings and off-road trails.

  • Professional Guide: A knowledgeable local guide will accompany you throughout the tour, providing fascinating insights into the area’s geology, history, and folklore. They’ll also ensure your safety while navigating Þórsmörk’s challenging landscapes.

  • Short Guided Hikes: Depending on the weather and group preferences, the tour may include short, guided hikes to vantage points like Valahnúkur Mountain, providing incredible panoramic views of the surrounding glaciers, valleys, and rivers.

  • Small Group Experience: Enjoy a more personalized experience with a small group tour, ensuring ample time for questions and exploration at each stop.

What to bring

  • Warm, Layered Clothing: Even though you’ll spend most of the day in the Super Jeep, Iceland’s weather can be unpredictable. Bring warm, waterproof layers to stay comfortable during the stops and any short hikes.

  • Sturdy Shoes: Bring hiking boots or sturdy shoes with good traction, especially if you plan on hiking at any of the stops.

  • Snacks and Water: Although there are breaks during the tour, it’s always a good idea to bring some snacks and water to stay energized throughout the day.

  • Camera: The landscapes you’ll encounter are nothing short of breathtaking, so don’t forget your camera or smartphone to capture the scenery and memories.

  • Meals and Snacks are not included in the tour: Meals and snacks are not typically included, so it’s recommended to bring your own food and water for the day.

We do hike in the rain, snow, wind and any other weather conditions that nature decides to throw at us. After all, we’re going on adventures! It is recommended to have a sturdy pair of broken-in trail shoes, boots, or sneakers (depending on the tour). It is preferable to dress in layers and wear clothing that will wick away perspiration and keep you dry and comfortable.
