Your adventure begins with a morning pick-up in a 4×4 vehicle from Akureyri, often called the Capital of the North. The first stop is Goðafoss, the Waterfall of the Gods, where an Icelandic chieftain famously cast his Norse god statues into the falls, symbolizing Iceland’s conversion to Christianity 1,000 years ago. This majestic waterfall, spanning 30 meters wide with a 12-meter drop, will leave you in awe as you feel the ground tremble beneath your feet.
Next, you’ll explore the mesmerizing Lake Mývatn area, home to boiling mud pits near Námafjall Mountain and the crater Víti by the Krafla Volcano. This region’s volcanic terrain is both otherworldly and captivating.
