Itinerary
Your adventure begins with a convenient morning pick-up from designated locations in Reykjavík. We’ll set off on an unforgettable journey to Iceland’s most famous natural wonders along the Golden Circle.
Hveragerði Geothermal Town
Our first stop is Hveragerði, a charming town famous for its geothermal activity. As we arrive, you’ll notice steam rising from the hills, creating a surreal landscape.
This unique geothermal energy allows locals to heat their homes, grow plants year-round, and even bake bread in the naturally heated ground! We’ll make a short stop to admire the town’s geothermal wonders and grab a quick bite at a local bakery before continuing our journey.
Kerið Volcanic Crater

Next, we’ll visit Kerið, a stunning volcanic crater lake often called “The Eye of the World.” This 6,500-year-old crater was formed when a volcanic cone collapsed, creating a deep blue-green lake surrounded by striking red volcanic rock.
The crater is 270 meters (886 feet) wide and 55 meters (180 feet) deep, offering spectacular views from the rim. You can walk around the edge or take a short hike down to the water for incredible photos. In winter, the frozen lake adds an extra touch of magic to the scenery.
Gullfoss Waterfall

Prepare to be amazed as we arrive at Gullfoss, one of Iceland’s most powerful and breathtaking waterfalls. Fed by the Langjökull glacier, the Hvíta River plunges over two dramatic tiers, dropping 32 meters (105 feet) into a rugged canyon.
The sheer power of Gullfoss is mesmerizing, and mist often creates shimmering rainbows on sunny days. Whether blanketed in snowy winter charm or rushing with summer glacial meltwater, Gullfoss never fails to impress.
Geysir Geothermal Area

Next, we’ll explore the Geysir geothermal field, home to bubbling hot springs, steaming vents, and powerful geysers.
The now-dormant Great Geysir was the first geyser to be documented in Europe and gave its name to geysers worldwide. Today, its active sibling, Strokkur, steals the show—erupting every 4 to 10 minutes with an impressive blast of boiling water that can reach up to 20 meters (65 feet) into the air!
You’ll have time to wander the area, capture stunning photos, and feel the raw geothermal energy of Iceland.
Thingvellir National Park

Our final stop is Þingvellir National Park, a place of historical and geological significance.
- This is where Iceland’s first parliament, Alþingi, was established in 930 AD, making it one of the oldest in the world.
- It’s also where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates are slowly pulling apart, creating a dramatic rift valley.
- Marvel at the Silfra Fissure, a crystal-clear underwater canyon, and the impressive Almannagjá Gorge.
As you explore Þingvellir’s breathtaking landscapes, you’ll stand in the meeting place of continents—a rare and fascinating experience.
After a day filled with incredible sights and unforgettable moments, we’ll make the 40-minute drive back to Reykjavík, arriving in the early evening.
