About Tour

Embark on an extraordinary journey that combines some of our most sought-after tours, offering a unique and unforgettable experience. Our Fire and Ice Helicopter Tour includes two thrilling landings: one on a glacier and one on a volcano.

Starting from Reykjavik Domestic Airport, we soar over the highest waterfall in Iceland, Glymur, and head straight to Þórisjökull Glacier for our first landing. Here, you can step onto the glacier, capture memorable photos, make snow angels or throw snowballs, and breathe in the fresh, crisp air.

Continuing to Þingvellir National Park, a must-visit attraction on the Golden Circle, witness the continental drift of the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates, which is only fully visible from above.

Our second landing takes place in the Hengill Geothermal Area, named after the Hengill volcano, which is situated in a remote valley. Here, you can explore the valley’s hot springs and boiling mud pots, accessible only by a few hours’ hike or by helicopter. This landing site is also part of our Geothermal and Waterfalls and Valleys tours.

Experience a guided helicopter flight of 60-80 minutes, with two 15-minute landings on a glacier and a remote geothermal area on an old volcano. The total duration of the tour is 100-130 minutes.

Please note that this tour is subject to weather conditions and daylight, particularly during the winter season. We closely monitor the weather and provide updates in the hours before the tour. Nevertheless, we operate year-round, and the weather only adds to the thrill of the experience.

Included

  • 2 hour guided helicopter flight.
  • 15-20 minute landing on a glacier.
  • 15 minute landing on a remote geothermal area and an old volcano.

Good to know

  • It does not get cold in the helicopter – it is similar to sitting in a car. However, it can get cold and windy on an Icelandic mountain top.
  • After submitting the booking we will inform you about the exact starting time for the tour.
  • Please note that this tour is weather dependent and if the weather forecast is not looking promising at the time of your booked tour we always try to:
    • A) Try to change the time on the same day (e.g. go in the afternoon instead of the morning).
    • B) Offer you to go on a different date (e.g. they day before or the day after).
    • C) If we are fully booked and can not offer options A and B we always give a full refund!
