2. Ride into the Remote Afrétt Region
Pedal along a rugged F-road that leads you deep into Afrétt, a region known for its wide-open landscapes and minimal human presence. As you leave civilization behind, you’ll enter a world where free-roaming reindeer and sheep are your only company.
3. Scenic Detour to Mt. Hvítserkur

4. Cruise Through Rhyolite Valleys
Continue biking through vibrant rhyolite valleys carved by ancient glaciers. The terrain and color palette here resemble Iceland’s famous Landmannalaugar region, offering a kaleidoscope of earthy reds, oranges, and yellows.
5. Waterfalls and Black Sand Beaches
Descend into lush valleys decorated with countless waterfalls that thread down the cliffs like silver ribbons. Eventually, you’ll arrive at a black sand beach scattered with beautifully colored rhyolite pebbles—an unexpected contrast that makes this spot truly magical.

Your final ascent takes you to approximately 500 meters above sea level. If the weather is clear, you’ll be rewarded with awe-inspiring views across the Víknaslóðir Wilderness, the Dyrfjöll mountains, the coastal cliffs of Borgarfjörður Eystri, and the distant North Atlantic.
7. Return Journey
