Once everyone is onboard, we’ll head out of the city and make our way into Iceland’s breathtaking highlands—an untouched region known for its wild beauty and geothermal wonders.
Stop 1: Gullfoss Waterfall

Our first stop is the iconic Gullfoss Waterfall, one of Iceland’s most powerful and photogenic natural features. We’ll pause here briefly so you can admire the thundering cascade as it plunges into the rugged canyon below—a perfect start to the day.
Scenic Drive into the Highlands

From Gullfoss, we leave the main roads behind and begin our journey into the heart of the Icelandic highlands via mountain tracks. You’ll enjoy sweeping views of volcanic plains, black lava fields, glacier-carved valleys, and snow-capped peaks as we approach our destination: Kerlingarfjöll.
Stop 2: Highland Base in Ásgarður Valley

Before beginning our hike, we’ll stop at the Highland Base at Ásgarður, a scenic valley on the edge of the Kerlingarfjöll mountains. Here, you can stretch your legs, take in the crisp mountain air, and prepare for the hiking portion of the day.
Main Stop: Hveradalir Geothermal Area – Guided Hike

The highlight of the tour is our guided hike through the Hveradalir geothermal area, nestled deep within the Kerlingarfjöll mountain range. This surreal landscape is alive with steaming vents, bubbling hot springs, colorful rhyolite hills, and winding geothermal rivers. The bright reds, oranges, and yellows of the earth contrast dramatically with patches of lingering snow, creating one of Iceland’s most visually stunning and geologically active regions.
You’ll follow your experienced guide along marked trails, taking in panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. The hike is moderate in difficulty, with plenty of opportunities to pause for photos, take in the scenery, and learn about the volcanic origins of the region. Hiking here is like walking on another planet—an unforgettable experience for outdoor lovers and nature photographers alike.
