Your Itinerary - Iceland for 5 Days - Classic Edition
Day 1
This Iceland Itinerary starts on the day of your arrival to Iceland. You will be spending your first day in Reykjavik. Reykjavik is the Capital City of Iceland, and actually the only city in Iceland. 2/3 of the population lives in Reykjavik and the surrounding area. Iceland is among the cleanest, greenest and safest cities in the world. Reykjavik offers many interesting tourist attractions in the city. We recommend that you walk around Reykjavik, grab something to eat at some of the great restaurants that you can find in the city and get to know the city of Reykjavik and its people.
If you purchase the Detailed Itinerary Package you will get details on what to explore in Reykjavik, Breakfast / Brunch Guide in Reykjavik, Restaurant Guide in Reykjavik and Accommodation Guide where you can find hotels and guesthouses that we recommend when staying in Reykjavik.
Day 2
On day 2 the adventure will begin. On this day you will be exploring the Golden Circle of Iceland. The Golden Circle is the most popular traveling route in Iceland. And no wonder why. On this route you will see some of the most magnificent attractions in Iceland. The top attractions of the Golden Circle are Thingvellir National Park, Geysir geothermal area and Gullfoss waterfall. This is what almost every traveler that visitis Iceland explores.
In the Detailed Itinerary Package we will recommend 9 stops to make that day. This includes the most popular attractions like mentioned above, but also some of our favorite less visited spots. A Hot Spring visit, more waterfalls and unique restaurants will be on the plan for the day.
Day 3
We will start our day early on day 3 because you will have a lot to explore on this day. This day will take you all the way to Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon and the Diamond Beach in South East Iceland. Day 3 includes some of our favorite locations in Iceland and we can promise you that you are going to remeber the sightings forever. Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon is by many thought to be the most beautiful location in Iceland. Massive icebergs drop from Vatnajokull Glacier and into the lagoon where they float around. It is simply a place that you can not miss on your visit! Next to Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon is the Diamond Beach, a favorite place of many travelers. The Diamond Beach has black volcanic sand. The icebergs from the glacier lagoon float from the lagoon and into the sea. From there they come up to land on the Diamond Beach which means that you can see icebergs all around the Diamond Beach. It is a very unique sighting. Other interesting locations of the day are Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon, Skógafoss waterfall, Vík village and Skaftafell National Park. All those location are considered to be among the top locations in Iceland.
Day 4
Day 4 will be your last full day of exploring, but we have a lot to see on this day. On this day you will be exploring some of the most popular attractions in South Iceland. Seljalandsfoss waterfall and Reynisfjara black sand beach are the most popular attractions of the day but we have also included some other locations that are our favorite but less visited by travelers. This includes a hidden lava cave, volcanic crater and some more waterfalls.
You will end the day in Reykjavik where you can visit one of the unique restaurants in the city. Read through the Reykjavik Restaurant Guide that is included in the Detailed Itinerary Package and choose something that interests you. You will be having a great time exploring the city of Reykjavik during the evening. Walk around the old town, have a great dinner and enjoy the Icelandic atmosphere.
Day 5
Your last day in Iceland. If you have an early flight you should get up and go to the airport. But if you are leaving later in the day, take your time to enjoy the morning. Check out our Breakfast & Brunch Guide in Reykjavik, grab something to eat and get ready to leave Reykjavik. Your destination of the day will be the Blue Lagoon where you can realx and enjoy more natural wonders of Iceland before your flight home.
