What to bring

  • It is essential that you dress properly for this hike.
  • A thermal base layer and waterproof outer layer are recommended.
  • Jeans are a bad idea as if it rains they will stay wet for hours and you risk hypothermia.
  • Good sturdy walking shoes, preferrable with ankle support
  • Swimsuit and towel if you intend to bathe in the hot spring
  • Water and snacks for the hike
  • Hiking poles are recommended – can also be rented when booking.

  • We will stop for lunch at the Greenhouse in Hveragerði where you can choose from variety of great restaurants. Note that lunch is not included in the tour.
  • The tour will last around 8 hours in total.
  • We recommend wearing warm and comfortable clothes and sturdy hiking boots.
  • The weather in Iceland is very changeable – meaning that waterproof clothing is essential.

Following a satisfying lunch, get ready for an invigorating hike to Reykjadalur Valley, renowned as the “Steam Valley.” Traverse scenic landscapes, passing through rolling hills and steaming vents on your way to the tour’s highlight—the natural hot springs. Upon reaching Reykjadalur, immerse yourself in the warm river, surrounded by untouched nature. The hike covers a distance of 8 km with a 340-meter elevation gain, taking around 2.5 hours. You’ll have approximately 1-1.5 hours to enjoy bathing at the hot springs.
