About Tour

Embark on an extraordinary journey to Iceland’s South Coast with a comprehensive tour, featuring a visit to the newly discovered natural ice cave, named “Askur,” and two iconic waterfalls: Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss.

Itinerary

Your adventure commences with a pickup from Reykjavík, providing a scenic ride along Iceland’s breathtaking South Coast. Absorb the beauty of Iceland’s diverse landscapes – from rugged mountains and serene pastures to endless black sands meeting the wild Atlantic and distant volcanoes capped with ice.

Waterfalls

This tour showcases two of Iceland’s most renowned waterfalls: Seljalandsfoss, inviting you to walk behind its cascading veil, and Skógafoss, with its thunderous drop and misty rainbows.

Snowmobile & Mountain Truck

The pinnacle of this adventure unfolds at the Myrdaljökull Glacier Base Camp. Transitioning to a giant Mountain Truck, you’ll embark on an exhilarating 20-minute ride through stunning landscapes, setting the stage for the wonders ahead.

Then, on a snowmobile, you’ll journey to the ice cave. No snowmobiling experience is necessary, but you’ll share a snowmobile with your travel partner, and one of you must hold a valid driving license.

Askur Ice Cave

Guided by our expert glacier guide and equipped with safety gear, explore the heart of Myrdalsjökull. A short walk from the parking area leads to Askur ice cave – a world of pristine snow and ancient ice, adorned with hues of deep blue, volcanic black, and sparkling white.

Inside the cave, marvel at its vastness, the largest and deepest ice cave tunnel discovered this season. The grand entrance, extending over 100 meters (330 feet) into the tunnel, showcases nature’s artistry through varying heights and widths.

Encounter open “domes” expanding the cavernous space, and traverse a mostly flat pathway, ensuring an accessible and enjoyable journey for all explorers. Immerse yourself in the wonders of Askur, a testament to the magnificence of Iceland’s natural beauty.
