About Tour
The Vatnajökull Snowmobile Tour is an exciting adventure that takes you on a thrilling ride through Europe’s largest glacier. The tour starts with a ride on a Super Jeep, which is specially designed to tackle the rugged terrain of Iceland’s glaciers. The Super Jeep takes you up to the glacier, where you’ll be able to experience the beauty of the glacier up close. This tour is ideal for families since there is no minimum age to join the tour.
Once you arrive at the glacier, you’ll be given a safety briefing and all the necessary gear, including a snowmobile and a helmet. The experienced guide will teach you how to operate the snowmobile, and then you’ll set off on your adventure.
The one-hour snowmobile tour takes you through the vast expanse of the glacier, allowing you to experience the pristine beauty of this natural wonder. The views are simply breathtaking, with endless stretches of white snow and ice as far as the eye can see. The guide will lead you through the glacier, taking you to some of the most scenic spots, and pointing out interesting features along the way.
During the tour, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to stop and take pictures, allowing you to capture the beauty of the glacier and the surrounding landscapes. You’ll also have time to simply take in the serenity and tranquility of the glacier, as you glide across the snow on your snowmobile.

- The departure for this tour is from Vatnsstaðir in South East Iceland.
- This tour is operated from March – October
- To operate a snowmobile, drivers must possess a valid car driving license, while passengers are not required to have a license.
- Dress according to weather. We suggest wearing warm outdoor clothing and waterproof clothing on rainy days.
- We spend one hour on the glacier. Total duration is three hours.
- Two people share the same snowmobile, it cost extra to have single snowmobile per person.

- We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 1 day or less before event
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 10% if booking is cancelled 365 days or less before event
