Reaching Your Destination

Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon is located on the edge of Vatnajökull National Park, one of the most beautiful places in Iceland. From Reykjavík, it is approximately 5 hours journey. The glacier is well-connected and is easy to reach. Directly on the Ring Road between Höfn village and Skaftafell in southeastern Iceland. When crossing Reykjavík, you will cross over the bridge that is right there, before you reach the lagoon. Adjacent to Route 1, you will see your destination “Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon”.

Surreal Beauty with Astonishing Panoramic Views

Kayaking amidst the natural ice sculptures, over the mirror-like surface, with seabirds overhead, lets you experience a magnificent view of nature. Kayaking in Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon is equally suitable for both beginners and experienced paddlers. Paddle your way through the unique-shaped icebergs that have drawn the attention of many filmmakers and directors. Many television series and Hollywood movies have been filmed here and have captured the wonderful scenic beauty. Not just the lagoon, but the entire coastline is worth visiting.

What to Carry Along and Dressing up for Kayaking the Glacier Lagoon

Even during Icelandic summer, you would need to dress up in layers, since the wind could be brutally cold and can hit you up straight. A layer of long sleeve shirt, with few more warm clothing to wear under the drysuit. A good pair of socks, gloves, and headwear is a must to carry! So, put on your boots and get ready to capture the beauty of naturally formed gray and blue glaciers and preserve them for a lifetime.
