Sturlungalaug hot spring is a remarkable geothermal pool located amidst a vast grassy field, surrounded by towering lava fields and majestic mountains. Unlike the crowded hot springs in Iceland, this hidden gem is relatively unknown and provides a perfect getaway for those who seek solitude and a tranquil atmosphere. The pool can accommodate at least 9-10 people, making it an ideal destination for families and friends to visit together.

Located in the western part of Iceland, on the way to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, this hot spring consists of two side-by-side pools, a larger one and a smaller one. The pool is surrounded by mud and turf, which is expected due to its location in the grassy field. Although it may not be as clean and well-maintained as other hot springs, the experience of having the pool all to yourself is unparalleled, providing a raw and authentic adventure.
