- The Geothermal Energy Exhibition: This is an interactive museum Hellisheiði Power Plant which shows how Iceland’s volcanoes processes and how the geothermal forces under the surface of the earth along with explaining the functions and purpose of the power plant that has been erected adjacent to the museum. Geothermal energy is the source that provides naturally hot water in Iceland which is also a huge tourist attraction. This makes it a pretty interesting and important thing for the Icelanders as well as an interesting topic to explore for the tourists, especially geology and science buffs. The museum offers several guided tours along with multimedia presentations with pictures and videos making it fun for kids as well. There is also a café and a gift shop in the arena where you can buy souvenirs.

- Urriðafoss: This waterfall is probably the most unique one in existence in the country. With a drop of only 12 feet, this waterfall transfers water at an average flow rate of 360 m3/s which makes it the most voluminous waterfall in Iceland and the second highest in terms of volume in Europe. Urriðafoss is popular for being a habitat for salmon which is why it got its name – Urriðafoss or the ‘Salmon Waterfall’. It is a huge probability that you will find a few fishermen in the arena fishing for salmon upon your visit. This is also the only waterfall in the world where salmon breed despite being made up of glacial water.

- Seljalandsfoss waterfall: Seljalandsfoss is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the country and also one of the most popular tourist location. The visit to Seljalandsfoss is well worth it. The waterfall looks beautiful from the front, but you can also walk behind the waterfall and get a totally different view of the waterfall and surrounding area. There is nothing quite like it to be standing behind the drizzling waterfall.
- Eyjafjallajökull Visitor Center: This is a small museum located in Hvolsvollur on a farm and owned and operated by a family. It is dedicated to the 2010 eruption of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano which not only required immediate emergency evacuation but also left an ash cloud huge enough to leave the air quality incredibly bad had shut all European aircraft for months. The museum shows the volcano and the eruption along with the surrounding landscape and presents several facts and figures about the eruption.

- Skógafoss: This is one of the biggest waterfalls in Iceland and is hands-down one of the most beautiful ones. Dropping from a height of 62 meters and flaunting a width of about 25 meters, the Skógafoss waterfall will render you speechless and will make everything seem smaller. The part is that there is a high possibility for you to see a beautiful rainbow at the foot of the waterfall which practically makes the visit perfect.

- Folk Museum: Located in Skogar, this folk museum of Iceland is the perfect place to learn more about the history of the country, its culture, traditions, and history. The museum was established in 1949 and was initially popular for its curator Þórður Tómasson who has retired now. You will find fishing and farming equipment, artifacts from the Viking Age, and rebuilt houses of Vikings which are a part of the open-air part of the museum.

- Reynisfjara & Reynisdrangar Black Sand Beach: Located very close to the Dyrhólaey arch, the Reynisdrangar black sand beach is one of the most popular black sand beaches in Iceland and is a very popular tourist spot on the south coast.
