While driving on Route 1 you will drive through the town of Hvolsvöllur and past Seljalandsfoss. Keep driving along the ring road for around 10 minutes until you reach Route 246 to your left. While driving on this route you will pass many private farms, and you will see a bridge over the stream. From the bridge, Íráfoss waterfall becomes visible.
